International Group Company (IGC) started off as Manufacturer and Supplier of GFRC/GRC (Glass Fiber  Reinforce Concrete/ Glass Reinforce Concrete) in Kuwait more than 20 years ago with the vision of one man  Mr. Adnan Al Mutawa, a Pioneer Engineer and an ex-member of Kuwaiti National Parliament, who founded  the International Group Company (IGC) in 1987 in Kuwait. Under his able leadership, International Group  Company (IGC) grew and diversified, ultimately moving in status from a family business to a full-fledged  Manufacturing & Supplying unit for GFRC/GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforce Concrete/ Glass Reinforce  Concrete) in Kuwait.

International Group Company( IGC) rank as the biggest Manufacturer and supplier of GFRC/GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforce Concrete/ Glass Reinforce Concrete) in Kuwait market, based on the consumption of main elements for the raw materials used in our products.

GRC is one of the most popular materials used for creative prefabricated architectural cladding. GRC’s ability to be molded into thin, lightweight panels with a wide variety of shapes, forms and surface finishes has been appreciated by a growing audience of architects and engineers worldwide.

Key features

  • GRC’s high strength allows design of thin, lightweight cladding elements
  • GRC can be colored with pigments, paints and natural stone facings
  • GRC cladding can replace non-structural precast concrete where weight and/or shape may be problematic
  • GRC cladding panels are generally manufactured by the “Hand Spray” technique. As the name implies, the material is sprayed into a mold using special machinery. The method can produce high performance materials from which panels with extremely thin, lightweight sections are achievable.

GRC is an ideal material for use on a wide variety of roofing structures. It is lightweight but tough, easy to fix and unaffected by environmental conditions even urban pollution. It can imitate traditional roofing materials such as slate, natural stone or clay products but unlike these materials it is neither heavy nor brittle. It can be molded into complex shapes for accessories including chimney sleeves or caps or for resolving difficult problems on non-standard roofs. It is non-combustible with high impact strength and is used on either flat or pitched roofs.

On pitched roofs it can imitate natural slate in both appearance and texture but can be fixed without pre-boring using conventional slate nails and its tough nature virtually eliminates breakage during fixing.

Flat roofs can be made more attractive by using promenade tiles which can be made non-slip and in a variety of natural earth pigments or colored sands.

Corrugated GRC roofing sheets, which are entirely free of asbestos, exhibit a high ductile, non-brittle behavior under test.

GRC provides the civil engineer with a tough cement-based material with a high strength to weight ratio. It can be molded into a variety of complex shapes for a wide range of civil engineering applications for highways, water transport and storage, mining and tunneling, The main advantages are:

  • Easily formed into thin light-weight sections
  • Moldable to produce a wide range of shapes and surface profiles
  • Low in deflection
  • Compatible with and bonds to concrete
  • Impermeable and water resistant
  • Non-combustible
  • Safe, easy to handle and work on site.
  • High resistance to crack development via good tensile and strain to failure properties
